Ecuador’s attainment of its second pork export was facilitated by a cooperative effort between the public and private sectors, under the leadership of PRONACA and its Mr. Chancho brand.

This achievement signifies a substantial milestone in Ecuador’s emergence as a prominent protein exporter, as evidenced by the shipment of 27 tons of pork to Vietnam, a major global consumer of pork.

The coordination between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Agrocalidad, the Association of Pig Producers of Ecuador (ASPE), and PRONACA was essential for this new step towards internationalization. To emphasize this accomplishment, a ceremony was conducted to formally announce the shipment’s departure. This event was attended by government authorities at the highest levels, union representatives, representatives of other strategic allies, media representatives, and the swine business team.
