We presented our Sustainability Report No. 17, in Santo Domingo

The presentation of the Sustainability Report (MDS) 2023 was conducted in the city of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, accompanied by a panel discussion that focused on the subject of water circularity and the company’s best practices in this domain. The MDS 2023 represents our 17th report, showcasing our responsible water management approach, guided by the principle of circularity. This commitment has led to a notable reduction in our water consumption per ton of production, achieving a 7.9% decrease over the past year. This milestone emphasizes our unwavering dedication to water sustainability.
The event was attended by prominent local authorities, including the mayor of Santo Domingo, the vice prefect of Santo Domingo, the mayor of La Concordia, the mayor of Buena Fe, and the governor of the Tsa’chila Nationality. In addition, representatives from various trade unions, associations, and organizations from the region were in attendance.
The panel, which included the participation of Luis Domínguez, Director of the Center for Water and Sustainable Development of ESPOL; Marta Coronel, Technical Secretary of the Coalition for Water Security in Ecuador; and Esteban Zambrano, Regional Manager of PRONACA Highlands and Santo Domingo, highlighted the company’s support for research projects in cooperation with the Center for Water and Sustainable Development of ESPOL to carry out a diagnosis of water quality in the Peripa River basin in Santo Domingo. The panel also emphasized the company’s commitment to cooperative research endeavors with the Center for Water and Sustainable Development of ESPOL, aiming to assess the water quality in the Peripa River basin and to formulate effective solutions that will enhance it for the benefit of local communities.
